Electricity conservation and demand management can contribute to meeting Ontario’s environmental and economic goals. In an effort to understand some ways in which we can progress towards these goals, Milton Hydro has developed a partnership with researchers from the University of Waterloo (UW) and the National Research Council (NRC). Milton Hydro has provided UW and NRC with household electricity data from around 1200 houses for the years 2006-2008, and the responses to an appliance survey conducted in 2006. These data do not contain any personal identifiers or account numbers, and therefore Milton Hydro has taken appropriate measures to protect your privacy as specified in our published Privacy Policy, and as required by the Research Ethics Boards at UW and NRC. The researchers will use advanced techniques to investigate the impact of utility programs on electricity use patterns within different customer groups. The results of their work will be posted on this website as they become available.
